Let me start this entry with an apology - to you 3 followers. I'm sorry.
I'm sorry that there has been a small lag between posts - of about 9 months. I'm sorry that I started and seemed to fizzle out. I'm sorry that you had forgotten about this blog entirely, and are now reading a post full of apologies. And most of all, I'm sorry that the Free Film Project has stalled - to the point that we haven't moved on since my last 9-month-old post.
Here's the thing - 2009 was...well...it was a bit of a sh!t. Something happened that I hasn't forseen - work. Work, and lots of it. As you may have read in an earlier post, my work days are a little longer than the average. I am on the road by 6.30 and not home for another 11-12 hours. Well, I was before it got busy. The joy of working for a large government department in a job that's constantly derided by the NZ media (if you can call them that) as well as some political figures, means that my days sometimes ended up being a little more than 11-12 hours. Not always, you understand, but in parts. And these parts came far too frequently for me to even think about putting pen to paper.
Still - I made it through.
As I write, it's quite literally the end of the year - New Year's Eve 2009. And something I wrote earlier hasn't changed. I started this blog saying that I never make resolutions, and this year isn't any different. I won't vow to complete this project by this time NEXT year - but dammit, I'll give it another crack.
I happen to already know that work is looking crazily busy for the first 6 months of 2010 - but I'll try. I happen to know that there could be further changes in the not-too-distant future (I'll spill the beans if it all happens) which will restrict my time even more - but it's worth a crack.
I already told you I'm quite good at starting things, and a little less great at completing them. But I still have hope.
Let me start by hoping any readers of this drivel have an incredible 2010. I fully intend to.
Love and best wishes go your way for the New Year. Please send some my way too.
I will try to update this blog regularly - but can't make any promises.
They're a little too much like resolutions for my liking.
